Elias Wrenfield

From The Current Encyclopedia

Elias Wrenfield is the author of The Current, a connected series of novels of quiet speculative fiction about the invisible forces that move between people.

Writing

Wrenfield's novels are about who gives, who takes, and what it costs. They are set in offices, kitchens and hospital corridors where something is always being exchanged. The strange element is never proven on the page: every event has an ordinary explanation available, and Wrenfield believes the best strange stories are the ones you could almost explain away.

The series

Each novel in The Current stands on its own and is told from a different seat: a director, a technician, a chemist, an assessor, a surveyor. Several share a building, a year or a person, and readers who follow more than one book start to notice the same small things recurring.
