The Leak
From The Current Encyclopedia
The Leak is a novel by Elias Wrenfield and the seventh book of The Current series, and the first set outside Halcyon Bio. It follows Lydia Marsh, who measures people for a living.
Premise
Lydia's heat map of forty-two managers is orange and gray, except for one row. Neil Brask is the best director at Hollis-Tate. He is kind and he gives his team the credit, and eleven of his people have left in fourteen months, every one of them saying the same thing on the way out: tired. Then a new senior vice president arrives from Halcyon Bio, Alexander Milcovich. He wants Neil promoted, and he wants to meet with him every morning at seven. Every cold room has a reasonable explanation. So Lydia adds a column: who was in the room.
